Community Guidelines
The rules for participation on CHOOZE — what is allowed, what is not, and what happens when the rules are broken.
Last updated: April 7, 2026
What these guidelines cover
These guidelines apply to all content and behavior on CHOOZE, including arenas, posts, showdowns, comments, replies, profile content, usernames, and direct participation patterns such as repeated harassment or spam.
CHOOZE is a social participation app. People should be able to post, react, vote, comment, and compete without being targeted, manipulated, or harmed.
CHOOZE has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Reported objectionable content and abusive accounts are reviewed within 24 hours and may be removed or permanently banned.
1. Participate Respectfully
Treat other people like they are real people.
Allowed:
- Disagreement
- Humor
- Competitive participation
- Expressive content that stays within the rules below
Not allowed:
- Bullying
- Targeted harassment
- Threats or intimidation
- Repeated hostile dogpiling
- Content intended to humiliate or degrade someone
2. No Hate or Dehumanizing Abuse
CHOOZE does not allow content or behavior that attacks, excludes, or degrades people based on protected characteristics or vulnerable identity. This includes:
- Hateful slurs
- Calls for exclusion or harm
- Dehumanizing language
- Praise or promotion of extremist or hateful ideology
3. No Sexual Exploitation or Non-Consensual Sexual Content
Do not post or threaten to post:
- Sexual exploitation
- Non-consensual intimate imagery
- Sexual content involving minors
- Coercive or predatory sexual behavior
If content raises exploitation or consent concerns, CHOOZE may remove it immediately and escalate enforcement.
4. No Graphic Violence, Illegal, or Dangerous Content
Do not post content that:
- Glorifies or incites violence
- Shows extreme gore or graphic injury
- Promotes self-harm or dangerous challenges
- Facilitates illegal activity
- Instructs others how to seriously harm people, animals, or property
5. No Spam, Manipulation, or Deceptive Behavior
CHOOZE is for real participation, not engagement abuse. Not allowed:
- Spam
- Scams or phishing
- Fake engagement schemes
- Duplicate or bulk-posting intended to flood discovery
- Impersonation
- Coordinated manipulation of voting, reporting, or social interactions
6. Respect Privacy and Consent
Do not share:
- Private personal information
- Doxxing content
- Non-consensual images of other people
- Content intended to expose, track, or intimidate someone offline
Respect the privacy expectations of other users when posting images, comments, and profile-related content.
7. These Rules Apply Across The Whole App
These guidelines apply to all content and interactions on CHOOZE, including arenas, posts, showdowns, comments and replies, profile content, usernames and display names, and direct participation patterns such as repeated harassment, abuse, or spam. Because content can spread through voting, follows, comments, and discovery, users should assume public-facing content may be reviewed under these guidelines even when it began as a lightweight or playful interaction.
8. How Reporting Works
Use the three-dot menu on any arena, post, or showdown to report content from inside the app. Reports may be reviewed together with:
- The reported content
- Related account activity
- Moderation history
- Other supporting signals needed to understand context
False, abusive, or manipulative reporting may itself be treated as a policy violation.
9. Enforcement Outcomes
When CHOOZE determines that content or behavior violates policy, moderators may take one or more actions:
| Situation | Possible outcome |
|---|---|
| No violation found | Report dismissed |
| First or minor violation | Content removed, warning issued |
| Repeated or serious violations | Temporary suspension |
| Severe, safety-related, or CSAM violations | Immediate permanent ban |
CHOOZE may act more quickly and more strongly when the conduct involves safety risk, repeated violations, exploitation, impersonation, or illegal content.
10. Appeals and Follow-Up
If you believe moderation action was taken in error, use CHOOZE’s appeals process and include enough context for review. Helpful details include your username, the affected content or account, what action was taken, why you believe the action was incorrect, and any supporting context or screenshots.
Not every appeal will result in reversal, but CHOOZE may re-review decisions when meaningful new context is provided.
