What CHOOZE collects, why it uses that data, and how you control your information.

Last updated: April 2, 2026

At a glance

CHOOZE collects only what it needs to run the app. Here is the short version:

  • Account data such as your email address, sign-in details, user ID, and profile fields
  • Content you create or upload, including photos, arenas, posts, showdowns, comments, likes, saves, follows, and reports
  • App settings and onboarding data such as preferences, selected interests, and legal acceptance state
  • Support, safety, and moderation records needed to review abuse reports and product issues
  • Analytics, crash, and performance data used to improve stability and product quality

CHOOZE does not sell your data, does not collect live device location, and does not use your data for cross-app advertising tracking. Privacy questions go to support@updates.chooze.dev.

What CHOOZE Collects

CHOOZE collects account data such as your email address, authentication provider, user ID, and the profile information needed to run a signed-in social app. This includes fields such as username, your name, avatar, bio, locale, and optional country display settings.

CHOOZE stores user-generated content that you create or upload, including profile photos, arenas, posts, showdowns, comments, likes, saves, follows, and reports.

CHOOZE also stores settings and onboarding data such as notification preferences, selected interests, locale, gender, date of birth, and legal acceptance state so your preferences persist across sessions and devices.

Support, moderation, operational, crash, and performance records may also be processed when they are needed to review abuse reports, investigate product issues, or improve reliability.

Why CHOOZE Uses This Data

CHOOZE uses the data it collects for the following purposes:

  • To authenticate users and keep account state in sync across devices
  • To power feeds, voting, comments, follows, notifications, and showdown experiences
  • To let users manage profiles, uploads, settings, and onboarding
  • To review reports, enforce moderation decisions, and respond to support or safety issues
  • To measure product usage, investigate crashes, and improve app stability and performance

What CHOOZE Does Not Collect

CHOOZE does not collect precise device location and does not collect coarse physical location from location services.

Country display and locale-related values in CHOOZE are based on profile settings and device locale context, not on live GPS or other location-service collection.

CHOOZE does not use your data for cross-app or cross-website advertising tracking.

Analytics, Diagnostics, and Monitoring

CHOOZE uses third-party infrastructure and monitoring providers to help operate the app and improve reliability. This includes analytics and release diagnostics tooling such as PostHog and Sentry.

These tools may process account-linked analytics identity, product interaction events, crash data, and performance telemetry so the team can understand feature usage and investigate stability issues.

CHOOZE uses this information for analytics and app functionality, not for third-party advertising tracking.

How Data Is Linked

Much of the data CHOOZE collects is linked to your account because the product is a signed-in social experience. This includes account records, profile fields, uploaded content, social interactions, reports, and diagnostics associated with signed-in usage.

User Controls

You can update profile identity, locale, country visibility, and notification settings from the Settings screen inside the app.

You can upload or replace profile photos and other user content from inside the app, and you can report arenas, posts, showdowns, and comment threads through in-app action flows.

You can request deletion of your CHOOZE account through the account deletion pathway in Settings. The in-app path initiates permanent deletion of your account, profile, content, follows, likes, comments, and settings.

Third-Party Services

CHOOZE relies on third-party infrastructure providers for authentication, data storage, content hosting, analytics, diagnostics, notifications, and operational communications. This includes Supabase for authentication and database services, plus analytics and crash-diagnostics tooling used to monitor release quality. CHOOZE is not responsible for failures caused solely by those third-party providers.

Data Retention

CHOOZE may retain certain records after account deletion or termination when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, or moderation history.
